Saturday 3rd June 2023 marked the delivery of our talk on ‘The Uplands: A Grand Estate of Vermont’ hosted by the Whitehorse Historical Society at Schwerkolt Cottage, Mitcham. We have found the Uplands to have a fascinating history. The lives of its past inhabitants give personal glimpses into what life was like in Vermont from the times of the early selectors in the 1850s, through to the orcharding era and finally, into the early 1960s with the beginning of modern housing developments.
We would like to thank the Whitehorse Historical Society for inviting us to speak in front a very warm and enthusiastic audience. Thank you also to Anne, Robyn H., Jack and Mary for supporting us on the day.
